I'm in the process of installing phpBB and integrating it into Drupal (the content management system that runs this site).
I have been going back and forth with wanting to upgrade the current Drupal forums to include more features like quotes, post tracking, etc., or to simply get phpBB up and running. FierceDiety has convinced me to get phpBB up and running, and after some research it looks like I'll be able to integrate it tightly into Drupal -- 1 login/1 account site-wide, preferences and notifications that are tracked across both places, etc. I'll also get Facebook connect in place so that visitors can quickly get authenticated and be more involved.
As soon as I get it working, I'll link the "Forums" button up top to the new ones and will leave the old forums up for archive purposes. If anyone thinks that current posts should be transferred over let me know. I'll leave it up to the community here to manage forum sections, topics, moderators, etc. Just add a comment to this post if you'd like to be a moderator and we'll get things going.

Having 1 account site-wide is very convenient, and adding Facebook/Twitter support is very nice :)
